I cannot put into words how incredible it is to witness the birth of a child. Having birthed two children of my own, each birth I photograph takes me back to those two wonderful days in my own life. It’s like I get to relive the day a little bit each time.

I cry while I’m shooting (SHOCKER, right?!), I cry while I’m editing, and I cry while I blog, or in this case, I cried making this video. This couple has been together since they were 15. They married in 2009 and have been creating life together since they were teens. They welcomed their first son, Benton, into the world two years ago this month. To watch them welcome a second little life they created together was so amazing. I feel so honored I am able to call this my “job”.

Welcome to the world Hagon Emory! You are loved, sweet boy.
