We’ve been waiting on this precious little love bug for quite some time now 🙂

While Harper was a  few days late, she made her entrance at just the right time – they day was nothing short of perfect. I got “the call” around 5:30am that morning and made my way into Atlanta…and a short six hours later, the sweet little girl took her first breath.

I often get funny looks when I tell people that I photograph births. “Wait, so you are in the room?”…”Yes, I am in the room.” *smiles* …”FOR REAL?!?”….”YES, FOR REAL.” 🙂

The birth of a child is extremely intimate. While I am in the room, I am also respectful. I try my best to be a fly on the wall – and capture the day just as it is. For those of you that truly know me, you know I LOVE to talk… so honestly, this part of my job is sometimes hard for me. 🙂  I want to cheer you on & tell you how wonderful you are doing. I want to calm your fears & tell you that it’s all going to be okay… because, you know what, it is okay  – God is in control.

While Melissa didn’t need me (she had so many loving supporters around her), she welcomed my love & encouragement anyway that day.

And while we are on the topic of love and encouragement, I have to brag for a moment on Harper’s father…he was the absolute best cheerleader for Melissa that day. When the going got tough, he walked Melissa right through it. It was so neat to see his love for Melissa and Harper pour out through positive encouragement, number counts, leg holding, and laughs. He was so, so great!

So, here you have it: Harper Lyn’s entrance into this big ole world.  Happy Birthday sweet baby! You are so, so loved.
